Exercise Physiology at CMS
Our Exercise Physiology service provides personalised, evidence-based exercise programs designed to help individuals manage chronic health conditions, recover from injury and improve their overall health and wellbeing.
Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists take the time to understand your goals, medical history and physical capabilities, creating a tailored plan that is both safe and effective. Working closely with your healthcare team, we support patients living with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory conditions, musculoskeletal injuries, obesity and other chronic health concerns.
Through individual consultations, supervised gym-based exercise and ongoing support, we help you build confidence, improve physical function and achieve sustainable long-term health outcomes.

1. Initial Assessment & Consultation
Your journey begins with a comprehensive assessment and consultation with one of our Accredited Exercise Physiologists. During this appointment, we take the time to understand your medical history, current health status, lifestyle, physical capabilities and personal goals. We also conduct a range of baseline strength and functional assessments, allowing us to accurately measure your starting point and monitor your progress over time. This thorough assessment enables us to identify your individual needs and develop a personalised exercise plan tailored specifically to you.
2. Personalised Exercise Prescription
Your second appointment takes place in our gym, where your Exercise Physiologist will guide you through your personalised exercise prescription. You will be shown how to safely perform each exercise, understand the purpose of your program and learn how it supports your health goals. This hands-on session ensures you feel confident and comfortable with your exercise plan before progressing independently.

3. Ongoing Support & Progression
Once you have established your exercise program, you may transition into our Exercise Physiology group classes. These supervised sessions allow you to continue your prescribed program in a supportive and motivating environment while receiving ongoing guidance from our Exercise Physiology team. Your program will be regularly reviewed and progressed to help you achieve the best possible outcomes.
4. Flexible Care Options
For patients who would prefer more individualised support, additional one-on-one gym sessions with an Exercise Physiologist are also available. These sessions provide extra supervision, education and program progression, ensuring your exercise plan continues to meet your changing needs and goals.
Whether you choose group classes, individual sessions, or a combination of both, our team is committed to supporting you every step of the way on your journey towards better health, strength and wellbeing.
