We’re encouraging everyone to “know their numbers” and start important conversations about their health

Why are health checks important?
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is an umbrella term for stroke, heart or blood vessel disease and remains the leading cause of death in Australia, claiming a life every 12 minutes. (1)
High blood pressure (hypertension) is the leading modifiable risk factor for CVD and often referred to as ‘the silent killer’ for its lack of obvious symptoms.
Diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD) also share risk factors. Many of the complications from having diabetes come from damage to blood vessels as a result of high blood pressure, abnormal blood lipids, and smoking. (2)
Whilst there are 1.3 million Australians with diagnosed diabetes, a further 2 million Australians are living with pre-diabetes – often unaware - and at high risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Every year, 5-10% of people living with pre-diabetes develop type 2 diabetes. (3)
It only takes 5 minutes, and results are instant!
