Bio.

Dr Philip Currie is the CEO and Founder of the CVS–CRS–CMS Group and one of Australia's most experienced cardiologists, with more than 40 years of clinical, academic, corporate, and healthcare leadership experience across Australia and the United States.

After graduating from Monash University, he completed his residency and cardiology fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne before undertaking advanced cardiology training at the Mayo Clinic in the United States. He subsequently held senior clinical and academic appointments at the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Michigan Heart and Vascular Institute, and Wayne State University, where he developed expertise in echocardiography, cardiovascular imaging, valvular heart disease, structural heart disease and adult congenital heart disease.

Returning to Australia in 1997, Dr Currie established what has evolved into one of Australia's most innovative integrated healthcare organisations. Beginning with Cardio Vascular Services (CVS), the Group expanded to include Cardio Respiratory Sleep (CRS) and Cardio Metabolic Services (CMS), reflecting his long-standing vision that patients should be managed as whole individuals rather than through fragmented specialty care. Through the integration of cardiovascular, respiratory, sleep and metabolic medicine, the Group has developed a coordinated model of care focused on prevention, early detection, and long-term health outcomes, with services now operating across Western Australia and Victoria.

Today, the CVS–CRS–CMS Group is recognised for its multidisciplinary and integrated approach to healthcare, bringing together specialist medicine, allied health, advanced diagnostics, prevention and research to address the growing burden of cardiometabolic disease and chronic illness. This collaborative model reflects Dr Currie's commitment to improving patient outcomes through coordinated, person-centred care.

Dr Currie's leadership experience extends beyond clinical practice into healthcare innovation, corporate governance, and medical technology. He previously served as a Board Director of Optiscan Imaging Limited (ASX: OIL), an Australian medical technology company developing advanced digital imaging solutions. During his four-year tenure, he contributed to the strategic development of healthcare technology, providing clinical insight into innovation, commercialisation, and the translation of emerging technologies into clinical practice.

Dr Currie is also a founding director of Integra Trials, a specialist Phase II–IV clinical trials organisation that connects patients with emerging therapies and supports research across cardiovascular disease, metabolic health, liver disease, respiratory medicine, neurology, healthy ageing and longevity.

His current focus is the development of integrated models of care that promote health across the entire continuum of life. From fertility and reproductive health through midlife metabolic and cardiovascular optimisation, and ultimately to longevity, cognitive wellbeing and healthy ageing, Dr Currie continues to lead the evolution of healthcare towards a more integrated, preventive, and person-centred model. Through the CVS–CRS–CMS Group and Integra Trials, he is helping bridge the gaps between specialist disciplines, research, prevention, and wellness to deliver better outcomes for patients and communities.

"My goal has always been simple: to move healthcare beyond treating illness and towards preserving health, maintaining independence and improving quality of life. The greatest opportunity in modern healthcare is not creating more specialties, but connecting them around the needs of the patient." - Dr Philip Currie
